1972 Porsche 914Introduction - Part 2 - Getting the car home8/15/2005Jason Panciera (who had known about the car and put me in touch with the owner) had offered to help get the car home. We used his tow setup that he uses for his 914 to get mine home. We loaded up the car on the trailer and filled up my Honda Odyssey with all of the extra parts that came with the car. I took it as a good sign that as on the way home I noticed a white 914 traveling in the opposite direction on I-540. This is the first time in probably over a year or more that I have seen a 914 on the road outside of at an Autocross! The quick and dirty inventory of extra parts is...
Once I do a complete inventory, I will decide what I am going to keep and what is going to go. I have already tossed the 916 bumper as it was pretty broken up. I expect I am going to sell the A/C unit. I didn't have the camera with me so, I didn't get any shots of it on the trailer. As the car needs a lot of work, I did a small victor drive down to the end of the block and back and then parked the car. This will probably be the only time it runs under it's own power for a year or more!
